Substance Use Treatment

At Inner Awakenings, we are proud to employ 80 staff members in both treatment and prevention services. Located in rural Greenland, New Hampshire, our 53-bed inpatient facility is situated on seven acres of land. Our 120-adult outpatient program is the most affordable in the 41-county region and we are the only provider of an affordable youth outpatient program.

We prioritize IV drug users, women, and women with children to receive treatment services. Our facility also houses HIV early intervention and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorder programs. Our goal is to not only help our clients achieve sobriety, but also to prevent them from needing our services in the first place.

Our Prevention Resource Center (PRC) is based in our facility and works to identify substance use trends and any gaps in services for youth in the communities we serve. We collaborate with local groups and are especially proud of our work with rural Rockingham County officials. Our regional community liaisons and in-house evaluator collect statistical data which is published annually to inform communities and state leaders of any issues.

We also provide specialized youth prevention programs for nine to 18 year olds in several counties. These programs target those most at risk for engaging in risky behaviors, such as those in poverty, with a family history of substance abuse, or who have been victims of abuse. We also have a curriculum for those already experimenting with mood-altering substances, which covers poor decision-making skills, school attendance, and other topics. All our programs are research-based and facilitated in school or community settings.
